The Gospel

If you were to die this instant, where would your soul go? Heaven or hell? Can you choose?

Yes you can and now is the time to make the choice. So what is the Gospel? It is the good news that Jesus died for the sins of the world, but rose again from the dead and will come again in glory and power to judge mankind. How can you receive this simple and free gift of God’s salvation? Forget what the world and popular culture has told you about Jesus, the Bible, or Christianity.

What is Christianity all about? Why should one know about Jesus? Why should you bother about something that happened over 2000 years ago?

Read on to find out about the single most important truth in the history of mankind – that has very real consequences for your life now and where you spend eternity after your last breath on Earth. Don’t delay, act now! (2 Cor 6:2). God’s offer of salvation is simple, sure and certain to everyone who believes:

1. Realise that you are a sinner

The Bible says: “There is none righteous, no, not one” Romans 3:10
There is no one in this world without sin. Nor has there ever been any person in this world without sin, except one – Jesus Christ.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” Romans 6:23
God is holy and cannot tolerate sin – so in your current state you are in enmity with God and cannot have a full relationship with Him.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16
But God loves you so much that he made a way for you to be restored to a relationship with Him by sending his Son Jesus Christ who willingly died on the cross over 2000 years ago. Jesus took upon Himself once and for all the sins of the whole world – He died for you, so that your sins can be forgiven and you can have the precious gift of eternal life.

2. Repent of your sins

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” Acts 3:19

“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” Acts 2:38

3. Believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins

That He paid the price for your sins in place of you so that you can receive the free gift of salvation and be restored to a relationship with the Father.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” Romans 10:9-10

God will renew your heart and spirit, and give you the gift of eternal life spent with Him. However, the consequence of rejecting Jesus is spending eternity in hell, a real place that was not made for you but for the devil.

Have no doubt; if you are not saved by faith in Jesus Christ, you will suffer eternal punishment in hell.

If, however, you wish to repent of your sins and you believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, that He died on the cross for the sins of the world, and that He rose again, simply pray this prayer meaning it from the heart:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe you died for my sins on the cross. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I confess you as my personal Lord and Saviour. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus name, Amen.
